Tailgating?
#1
A friend of mine bought his first dump truck a few months ago. As often is the case it is a bit rough and needs plenty of help. Well the gate has been patched a million times and it broke it's final time. He was considering having one built. I made him a good offer on the labor and he bought the materials. It is taking a little bit longer then I expected but all it needs now is finish welding on a few things and it will be ready to go.
Saturday morn.

After the first cuts were made.

Ready for a second pass.

One of the support peices cut.

And welded in.

Very happy for my first time cutting 1" thick steel with the torch.

1" Throws a lot of sparks! And I didn't really dress for the occation.

No singed hair though!!!!
Nearly finished. We are going to put a vertical support in atleast the bottom two pannles if not all four.

It still needs finish welded on the pins and hinges. He is going to paint it himself. I told him bright pink would be a good color. The cab is black so I would guess he will go with gray or black. The bed is aluminum.
The 1" went really easy. I got a few really clean cuts and a few that got a little bit messy but they all look good over all.
