Default Summit Racing

On top of doing the Heads / Cam, I am also redoing my brakes. I get on the phone with Summit, and proceed to order, amoungst other things, a set of rear SSBC slotted and drilled rotors. The Summit tech though something looked funny, so he called SSBC Tech support, comes back on the line with me, and gives me different part numbers than I had found on Summits site. Good catch on the techs behalf, right? Well the parts get in, I install them and begin to seat the brakes. As I am pulling out of the driveway, I hear a CLUNK, get out and look, and see the inside pad on the drivers side is almost falling out of the bracket. Now the rotors are "used". Pull them out, and compare the widths of the new to the old, and see that the new ones are almost a 1/2" thinner than the old. Now I realize that they are the wrong rotors (admittedly, I should have definitely compared the two prior to install). I called SSBC and sure enough, they have two rotor options, one for single piston calipers (the ones I got) and a different one for dual piston rotors (the ones I need). Fantastic. Now I have a set of new used rotors. I call Summit, they sasy no worries, box them up, UPS will be by tomorrow to get them and the new, CORRECT rotors are already on the way.

That is why I like that company. They send me the wrong stuff, and make it right, no questions asked.

I moved this to the truck stop as Summit isn't a sponsor of this site but I agree and have had nothing but the best service from them. I live about 4 hours from Summit in Sparks and most items will reach me the NEXT DAY if I order before 2pm!! Their competitors cringe at the competitve pricing.

I wasn't sure about putting that in the sponsor section or not. Same story with me, I live in Florida, and I get the stuff that shipps from GA next day. Its great. I just wish they would start carrying more of the oddball items that me like so much.

My favorite place to buy from mostly because they're one of the few companies who don't rape you on shipping charges. They are most certainly a one-stop-shop as well.

the only thing you can say bad about them is that they drive prices down making it difficult for smaller companies to compete but that is the american way and as long as their customer service is maintained I think they will continue to lead the market in performance part sales.
