that laying your bike down because a stupid b*tch pulls out in front of oyu sucks. Luckily I had my helmet on(saved me from going to the hospital) and my gloves on which kept my hands from being swiss cheese since I used them to flip me over and kick the bike away as I slid down the road at about 40mph. I am an EXTREMELY lucky person that I didnt get hurt worse then I did. Besides a few cuts and some sore joints Im fine. For all you bike riders out there WEAR YOUR HELMET, in TX its not a requirement if you take the safety course but it saved my *** this evening and the reason I am able to type right now instead of on a ventilator. Here are some pics of the "fun"

my knee, it doesnt look too bad in the pic but its cut all the way down to my knee cap

gotta love asphalt embedded in your arm

and a general pic of me(I skidded on my stomach in case you didnt know lol)

Needless to say the bike is going to be sold, in a few years after I settle down Ill get a heritage softail harley but Im done dodging Austin drivers for now. In the year and a half I have had the bike I have almost laid it down(not my fault) 9 times and this one finally got me. I could have avoided it had it not been for the fresh asphalt patch job that made my front tire slide sideways but there wasnt much I could do and the damn lady pulled right out in front of me and STOPPED. And to top it all off my favorite shirt and shorts are screwed. Anyway to all the scooter riders out there be safe and wear your damn helmet.

Glad you're ok and escaped with a few scrapes. You'll be damn sore in the morning.
If you ride you will go down. It is inevitable, even if you're a great rider. I say keep the bike. Don't shoot the horse 'cause you got kicked.

I had my right leg taken off by a buick in 1991. (surgically repaired with IM rods in Femur and Tibia, fib is gone). I've been hit from behind once and escaped with bruises. I've gone down 3 or 10 times 'cause I was pushing it too hard.

Again, glad you had the smarts to wear safety gear and you are ok. Better say some thanks

Honestly it doesnt have a whole lot to do with the wreck, I was planning on getting rid of it anyway. Im 21 and dumb and the bike has way too much power for me, I have found myself on more then one occasion "cruising" at 150+mph. I want a heritage softail so bad I can taste it but I cant afford it right now with trying to ge a house and all. And it doesnt help that the GF is nagging the **** out of me either. But I got her to agree that if I get rid of this one later on I can get the bike I really want which cost about 6 times more then the current one. I knew it was only a matter of time before it would happen its a given when riding a bike. The reason why I wasnt wearing my joe rocket jacket was because I was going to a bar and I can lock my gloves in the cargo hatch and latch the chin strap of my helmet in the seat and I wouldnt have any place to carry the jacket so I left it at home. Its was almsot 80 here today so I wanted to enjoy the nice temperature but oh well. I WILL get another bike. You cant beat the feeling of riding on a bike, the freedom you feel and the nimbleness, but it will be ona cruiser next time, with of course loud *** vance and hines pipes
