These goofs just want to feel that their car is the all around greatest vehicle. Its not, never will be. Hell a Ferrari isn't the best all round.
I think they have a slight complex, kind of like us truck guys. We have to prove to some that our trucks are not the heavy/slow vehicles that are the normal perception to the masses.
However, I will never start the argument that my truck gets 45mpg, it just aint so, kind of like a Prius being quick to any speed or even fast by any standard, it just aint so.

I saw this thing on TV were they have a club for prius owners and they would take turns driving long distances too see who could get the best mpg. Im not making this up it was a group of balding single middle aged molester looking types and they would drive for days trying beat each others mpg ratings

 

The mpg is the only thing prius owners have over anybody else
