I am around 1 hour away in tulsa from the site. Thankfully it grew weak as it entered tulsa area. We had debris raining down here intermittently yesterday as it passed.
Soo sad.

Missed my house by less than a mile. I had many friends who weren't so fortunate. Lucky everyone I know was fine or only had very minor injuries.

they are comparing this to the Joplin, Mo tornado from what ive seen. i know this all to well, i live 20mins from joplin now, but grew up in joplin, i was there right after it happened, dad lost everything he owned, house, truck, harley, luckily he wasnt home or we would lost him to. my condolences go out to everyone that lost someone is this horrific tornado

its bad when you cant find your way around the town you drove thousands of miles in, no landmarks or anything, nothing can describe it

My parents house was only a few blocks away from Briarwood elementary that got hit and barely one block away from the houses that got flattened. My mom and little brother were at the house, my dad and I weren't there. I was watching the tornado from my work as it was going through my neighborhood, not knowing if it took out my parents house or not.. The house did get holes in the roof, broken windows, shattered front door, most of the fence is missing, and debris everywhere. Its so unreal seeing the neighborhood I grew up in and the elementary school I went to just trashed and gone.. Thoughts and prayers go out to all that were affected, my parents got out lucky.
