update

we did a little insulating out there so the heater doesn't run so much and i am working on a cool security system. it will do things like turn on a light under pre alarm and then turn on every light in the building under alarm. also it will give me control of the lights from the house. i will be able to turn on just the outside lights or all of the lights in the garage from inside my house.

i started looking at the rest of the floor and to do that i have to look at lifts. my cieling is a little low for a normal overhead lift and the floor plate ones suck. the inground would kick *** but i would need to buy it now and they are expensive. i found this lift that is like a plate unit(no overhead chain) but has no plate. looks cool but it costs about twice what it should cost.

that alarm system sounds sweet. full control and you dont even have to step outside.

i hear ya on working on buddies cars/trucks. gets your hands dirty and still leaves money in your pocket. my problem is all my friends are just as broke as i am. lol

it is listed at $3500 on their site. thats about twice what you can get a typical 10,000lb lift for. i am hopeing that price is not firm.

They have just about the best customer service too.

2 years ago, the Dad's lift acted up, seeing as it had been used for storage in the up position for a year with no movement on it. Dad called the number on a Sunday, expecting to leave a message and got some dude at his house who worked for the company. He talked him right through it. Not bad for an 18 year old product at the time.
