To Be Honest... You Look At Most Tracks..... There Is Planty Of Area Left After The End To Run Off They Just Put The Wall There... I Say Give Them Some More Space For Runoff In Case Of Failure....

Lets Face It Alot Of These Guys Are Cutting Off At 1000 Or So....

Cory Mac Is A Friend Of Mine From Quite Awhile Back....

We Were Talking A Few Years Ago When His Car Folded.... And He Wound Up Sliding Down The Track... And He Said That Most Problems Could Be Done Away With By Extending The Runoff Area.... "so You Have More Time To Let Her Slow Herself Down"

Sometimes These Guys Are Just Along For The Ride...

Then The Only Accidents You Would Have To Worry About Is The Inevitable Bangin The Sidewalll Which Welll Your Screwed There :d

I agree with the longer shut down. I was talking to a guy the other day that stated that most of these accidents you read about are at old tracks. His feelings were that in the day when the track was built, the cars were slower. I think it is time for the NHRA to make tracks get up to date or they loose their event.

i think its dumb. bull riders get hurt all the time and nobody decides to put them on friendlier bulls the man strapped himself into a car that he knew would top 320mph in 1/4 mile...he knew he was getting into a dangerous car and everyone watching it knows it but then freaks out when **** happens. it just wont be the same in 1000' IMO.
Exactly I dont see why everyone makes such a big deal about it. I feel sorry for the guy who lost his life and his family dont get me wrong but he knew what he was getting himself into.

like i said... most present day cars are cutting off at 1000ft mark.... so by the finish line being at 1000ft what are you accomplishing besides the illusion of a safer race....

there will never be such a thing as a safe drag race.... thats why its so fun... you never know what could happen.... ive drug a car across the side wall before... it hurt but i had cool bruises, a broken wrist and memories ill never forget....

and everyone in the staging lanes behing me was pissed cause they had to wait or the track to get cleaned up
