Default New concept engine design

Watch "The Grail Engine from Grail Engine Technologies - SAE 2012" Video at Engineering Videos - Engineering TV

They say it's capable for a 500cc engine to produce 100HP and 65ft/lbs. That's 30 cubic inches. Theoretically a 5.3 using this type of engine would be producing 1083 HP and 705 Ft/Lbs.

I'd like to see it in person. The fact that it's 2 cycle kinda threw me off for a bit, but if they're really able to get 100 HP out of 30.5 CI ... I'm willing to listen.

I did the math out for the HP & Torque numbers, comes out to 100HP at 8000 RPM.

I had a 500cc Honda 450 motor that put out 70 HP to the tires ha ha. Not to bad being that it was a semi small cam and had to work with the head that Honda gives you and there are obvious limits when porting and reshaping. This was 4 years ago so I know the technology is better with making HP now.

yup. 2 or 3 in a boat, 1 for each prop.

you'd skim across easily & still get over 30mpg
