The deductible doesn't vary based on severity of damage! What type of insurance do you have anyway? Bill already said his deduct. is $500, or were you not reading? He probably could tell that the truck parked there was the offender by checking for things like alignment of damage height and location relative to the way the truck was parked. That wouldn't take a rocket scientist!

Bill, hope you get this worked out, that sucks!

First of all if you don't know how **** I am about my truck I guess you don't know me too well. I do walk arounds before I leave for work in the morning....before I back out of my locked garage, ok?

I'm not making a big deal about it and yeah, it's possible that the truck pictured didn't cause the damage, but HIGHLY unlikely, highly unlikely. Will I collect from the douche? doubtful but I'm going to try.

first off WTF are u talking about??? ur deductible isnt going to be $500 on comprehensive coverage(which is what this would fall under if u claimed it as vandalism...). i dont see any marks that make me think that truck is the culprit. i understand being upset but theres nothing u can do and honestly if someone backed into u i think theyd move their vehicle. im just thinking they cant be that dumb can they? u could get ur insurance to cover it ur not gonna get anyone elses insurance to cover that without someone or something(camera) seeing them do the damage. sucks and sorry to hear bout this **** but it happens.

I do!! You take care of your truck like a **** star takes care of her Celebrity Taco. Except yours smells better and there's never a fear of getting an STD when I sit in it!

This thread is why I've never had a roll pan - on a DD anyway. That, and I would have had to cut the frame on my AV. Roll pans look great, but to me it's a lot like walking up to people and asking them to punch you (i.e. it's just a matter of time....)

Alright DBYRD, WTH are you getting your insurance information from? Do you understand how a deductible works? You decide on your deductible when you are picking the terms on your policy, your insurance company does not designate or pick that for you. Why would the deductible not be $500 dollars if that is what you chose at the time of origination of your policy? I have the option to have a comprehensive deductible of $100, 150, 250, 500 or 750, which I choose at the time of policy origination every 6 months. As you raise your deductible, your premium drops, as a function of your insurance being less exposed to liability. Deductibles are not decided as the adjuster is reviewing the vehicles' damage. When was the last time, and from whom did you purchase insurance?

really? my comprehensive deductible for when my truck was keyed was $500. Unless I wanted to pay a fortune extra every month I could have had mine lowered to about $100 at lowest... wouldn't even have been worth it

He is not over reacting at all, its a ******* shame that you can't own something nice and it comes down to having to park at the end of the lot (and even that doesn't guarantee).

I feel your pain Bill, I am sure you remember pics I posted a while back and someone had keyed the passenger side of my Sierra. ****** comprehensive deductible was $500 and quotes I was getting for the work were like $650, $150 would not have even been worth filing a claim at that time

GL with getting it worked out man

hey Bill - I didnt read the entire thread.. BUT...

Call your insurance and report it. Give them the vehicle license number and they should be able to get the insurance info. The guys insurance will pay for the damages and possibly provide you with a rent a car. I got a good body shop for you as well.

Damn Bill that sucks. Once my tahoe gets a new fresh coat of paint I'm not going to want to park it anywhere.
