Default this months Hot Rod magazine must read

I just got this months Hot Rod mag in today. They have an article they see how much power a stock bottom end 5.3l can make. They twin turbo it a pair of 76mm ebay turbos running 118 octane fuel. However they thought they had a 5.3 but then they realized it was a 4.8 lol. Anyways they made 1203hp on an engine running 26.8 lbs of boost that is sick. The motor had ported heads fast intake and tb and a off the shelf comp xr281hr lol not even a boost cam. It starts on page 76. the name of the article is "Big Bang Theory" I have been trying to find a link but not having any luck

I want to know can the 5.3 and 6.0 handle what the 4.8 can. Is the 4.8 more than we think? Foose04 and a few others are proving this. 4.8's don't cost anything to replace if you hurt one.

I'd like to see the rods in that motor. Good tuning can save the pistons but the rods are the weak link in these motors. I believe it though, there's plenty of guys on here that have pushed stock blocks to over 1000hp. Synergy and Jarrett to name but a couple.

Yes its a good read. The 4.8 made 450hp NA with tea ported heads, com cam and fast intake. There is also a 2500 HP sonnys big block that makes a normal big block look tiny. The v4 is cool too, its a joint build between katech and motus. It's a 160hp motorcycle engine.
