It needs a new CD drive too. If I got that one working I could use it if I ran into any problems with the one Im on right now, and once this one is fixed I could use the old one just for tuning.
If you want to send it to me I'll see what I can do.

The hardware can do it no problem as long as there are drivers.

now thats a problem

Cody, can you give me the exact model number off the bottom of your laptop? I want to double check hp's site and make sure there are no XP drivers.

when i got mine it came with a 1.7 processor and 333 memory.
looking on the web site i found out it could take a 2.4 processor and 2 gigs of 400 memory.
upgrading it made it better.

I am about 50ish miles from you. Is your PC running scandisk after the lockups? I know a guy that dropped his and was having the same problems. turned out there was mainborad damage we replace the HD but still had the same issues. The HD had a scandisk file that was huge I took a screen shot of it if anyone would like to see it.

As far as the old computer is concerned, I already added some ram to it, it doesnt need anythign special since Ill only use it for tuning. If someone local can look at either computer that would be awesome. The tags on the bottom of the laptop says
S/N: CNF73039GB
P/N: GA447UA#ABA

Anything else you need?
