..and man what a crazy time!

I worked on an incident management team and was radio communications for my agency (Federal government).

Went down there on the 12th, came back last night.

I've worked other large events, fair, gatherings, natural disasters, but nothing compared to this, people-wise especially.

I went to the concert on the 18th and stood about 60 yards from the stage.
I didn't even try to get close to the Capitol on the 20th though- wasn't gonna do it.

I did go up into the Washington Monument just before the swearing (sp) and snapped some picutres. I'll try to post more pics later...

Good picture. I could only imagine how bad it was to get around DC with that many people.

The day of the Inauguration, I went into work at 1:30 AM just to beat the bridge closings, and do a few other things. Ironically, it was easy to get out of town, but getting in was impossible. And driving around was easy, until pedestrian traffic took over the streets.

It was! At first, I agreed to do the comms, but planned on leaving Saturday. But as I was down there working with all of these people getting ready, I got excited and into it and wanted to stay. Whether I like Barrack, or not, it was pretty amazing to be a part of that.

But damned, I'm still tired- off to bed soon..
