AR-50 sucks for deer hunting, never heard of a lapua, good lucking carrying tha 50 around through mountains all day scouting trails.

I should also say it took three shots for one to finally connect. I consider myself a good shot but Ive always shot a stationary targets or when Im whitetail hunting shooting one running from a 100-150yds, as you can imagine its a big difference with that extra 200yds tacked on

the lapua is a round that is litterally right between the 30-06 and the .50

It's actually alot better anti-flesh gun than the .50 cause it shoots very flat and has a much lower ballistic coefficient and better transmitted energy out to 1k yards

There is no way a lampua carries over 3000 ftlbs with it out to a 1000yds, the Weatherby .30-378 used to be the record holder for the 1000yd 3 shot group, one thing needed for accuracy that far out is lots of energy and I just cant see the lampua carrying more energy then the Weatherby and just as much as a 50. My dad is on the waiting list for a Barret semi-auto 50, should be here late next year, oughta be fun to go shoot prairie dogs at my dads place

A point to note is the Dmax got 12.5mpg average over the whole trip, which aint bad considering I never went slower then 75 mostly cruising at 80, at some parts where the speed limit was 75 I bumped it up to a little under 85. Not bad since the trailer is a sail and I was on my 35s, I crossed the scales at just under 19K. Have I ever said how much I love my truck

I should have rephrased lol

it carries a higher percentage of it's initial force to 1000yds

for example a match load of .50 starts with 11,000ft/lbs and ends with 3000ft/lbs


and give me a call later about the laptop
the Lapua starts with 4500ft/lbs and ends with almost 1750ft/lbs
