IMPORTANT!! Truck Caught Fire Need Input!

When i bypassed my radiator, i sprayed about a 1/2 can of carb cleaner threw the top fitting to get all the tranny fluid out of the radiator, I kept spraying until it was clear and then i just left it open... I cut my stock lines and used compression fitting to attache the tubing, then i screwed on barb fittings to the compression fittings then ran hose to the cooler...
Sucks to hear man, maybe you split a line or just residual fluid left in the radiator...

I think I would keep the stock cooler and put the other cooler on the cold side of the stock cooler. That way if the fluid is really hot it can be cut back a few degrees before going into the big cooler. I read about a lot of people bypassing the stock cooler so there must be a better reason for it. Feel free to educate me.

so you just took both lines out the radiator and connected them together right? If so there is nothing wrong with that, i am assuming that you have an external cooler, I am sure you do, but just checking...;

EDIT-I thought you meant I DID route them wrong based on my little fire.
My aftermarket cooler is routed after the stock cooler.
It goes: Feed line>Stock Cooler>Aftermarket cooler>Drain
Yep sure di and yes I have an external cooler.

Have you started it since the fire? the reason i ask it i am wondering if you split the rubber line. When we attached a friends cooler, we tightened the clamps too tight and it split the rubber line within 2 miles of the first drive, sprayed tranny fluid everywhere... If you haven't started it yet, start it up and check for leaks....

That's both funny and depressing at the same time. The truth hurts.
