Question If you were to do it over.....

What would you do?
Would you do the same or something else?

I would have got an 01-02 GMC 4x4 with the 5.3, short box maybe an extended cab. I would just have a lot more mod money instead of the 04 payments. And I just might be selling the 04 soon(we'll see) so I have more money twards a House instead, and I will be going that route when I do

The route I took was neccesary to learn what makes power and what doesnt I wish I had the knowledge to just go ahead and build a 402 and skip the h/c 5.3 but for what its worth this little 5.3 has turned out well and will kick the **** out of alot of supposed "sports cars".

One thing I can say for certain the mailorder tune and custom tune were a waste I should have just gone straight to a wide band and hp tuners and saved 1000 bucks wasted on guys who care more about my money than my truck.

I would have waited longer and cnc'd my heads or just bought some pre-assembled.

I would have also not bothered with a blowmaster muffler been through a 40 and 50 series should of gone straight to a magna. Dont like the dump under the cab!!!
I would have also done the exhaust right the first time so I wouldnt be fighting leaks and shitty welds. Now Im learning how to weld so I can chop it off and do it right.

I would have gotten 4x4 instead of 2wd and 4.10 gears instead of 3.73.
If my current truck had those two things, I think I would keep it forever.:

Before I bought what I have now, went to the dealer and tried to order a 2wd scsb witha 6.0l engine.
The sales nerds told me "we don't make anything like that, nor will we". Thats how I ended up with what I have.
I couldn't get what I wanted so I ended up blowing the extra money on 4wd.

I need 4wd for the deer lease, I need an extended cab for hauling **** and people so i would get the same truck again. Just the next time I will do the exhaust right the first time instead of spending 2200 bucks on 6 different mufflers, taking cats on and off, later on installing lt headers, now finally ending up with a corsa system and dual e-cutouts on right off the header. I also wouldnt have done the valvetrain **** on my 5.3 since a weak later it blew. Also I would save all the money that I spent on the nitrous setup and get a turbo setup but oh well my 408 and big shot will have to do.

wish i would have gotten a V-6 though. so the freakin insurance wouldnt be as high (im 20). and swapped in a 6L or LS1?
would have never bought the hypercrapper or the K&N intake.
ill be gettin a Wait4me tune or learn how to tune my self. and made a intake heck of a lot cheaper than the $250 i spent on the K&N.
but thats my 2 cents.
and i like my ECSB. just right for me.
enough room for all my crap but not to big its a hinderance.
and im glad i found this site so i wouldnt have gone out and got a chokemaster.
Magnaflow is goin on soon as i can find what im lookin for.

I wish I still had my 02 2500 HD, would have not worried about the trans. It would have been easier to build. I like my SS though, its really a toss up. I think the SS is it for awhile though.

I would have loved a black 99-02 Silverado 4.8, dropped in a 408 LSx motor, dropped it 2/4, and the stepside bed. I love those trucks!
