Most of them probably are just meant for a ranch down that way I'm guessing, but could pull double duty. A good truck built that way is the foundation for what I'm thinking about. Nothing too over the top, but way more capable and dependable than your average truck when it comes to moving around off road, whether it's on a trail, through a field or slowly working your way across harder terrain. I'm really trying to find a balance between a dedicated trail rig and daily drivability. I still have my civic that I can drive to work every day, but when the weather gets kinda shitty it'd be nice to have something a little more... sturdy lol, to make the 50 mile snow drive in. That's why I'm still piecing ideas together, I'm trying to get a good grasp on what I'm going to end up doing.

Jonathan, from what posts I've seen you make . . . if there is ever a revolt in this country, I'm loading up the crew cab with canned goods and all my guns and ammo and coming down with you. You would probably outlive everyone on pt.net.

back to the topic. Ranch hand bumpers are a good choice as well as a good stock of lights. Pretty much any page in Four Wheeler magazine. If I were to build with the proper amount of money.

06 rclb 1 ton 4x4 8.1 4.10s
4" suspension M/T Baja claws on beadlocks
ranch hand, warn winch
lights galore
dual yellow tops
Probably need a gun to steal the gas you need to sustain that 3 mpg.

haha, no **** about the mileage with that, I'd definately go with a Dmax before an 8.1 personally though. I'd try to keep myself on the up and up and not resort to stealing **** if I didn't have to, but I've definately got the firearm situation already figured out on my end lol. Only thing I have left that I really would need is an AK pistol for a dedicated truck gun... SHTF or not. Only thing stopping me is I live in CT and an AK pistol is kinda illegal here until I can figure out a way around our ban.

haha, well if anything comes close to what we are talking about here then you can tell that ban to shove it cause you will need to eat. Yea i would probably go with the dirtymax too, but what if it's winter and you have no where to plug in your block heater.

Or you could build whatever you want
Here is what we did for the front of my brothers mud truck..
We have ripped a many of ranch hand bumpers off trucks. Now if you aint skared to weld and really attach it to the frame then get at it. This bumber has the frame sandwiched and reinforced for 40" behind it.

My brother built one for a guy on his 03 Z71, it is sweet. Ill see if i can find a pic of it.
Winch mounts in the center just a lil low to protect it, but the sides are a lil big so you can put a cooler on it or sit on it..
