I NEVER lost a street race in my old 04 SSS with a real similar setup to yours,As mentioned AWD/4WD owns on the street...I am not sure what would have happened after 70 mph..but up to then I pulled them ALL..My kill list included C4Z,Viper,Terminator Cobra, TT 350z..
High HP + 2wd + Manual + street tires = shitty launch
High HP + AWD + Auto/stall + any tire lol = neck snapper/tranny breaker!

My brother, who owns a '01 Z06, says well, the ZR1 is stock. That's not fair. I said, so what. It's also over 1000# lighter. And not $100k plus.
I told him, he's a typical Corvette geek. He only looks at a stock vehicle it seems, whether it's 300HP or 638 or whatever.
I said so what, Bill's a truck. A heavily modded one tho.
Run whatcha brung is the street, if a person doesn't wanna play track or street, plan & simple, no tears.

Not everything is gonna be fair or equal. Is it fair if I spend "x" amount to whip my brother's Z06 in 1/4? Consider what his car costs, my truck weighs, vs car & his power / aero advantage. Take the price of a Z06 & if it takes the price of my truck in mods + original truck pricetag & I beat him, oh well. Or, it takes less $, long as people are happy, it doesn't matter.

How is that not fair? Bill pushing the 4wd button is no different than the ZR1 driver using launch control. It's not like he's telling the other guy he's got a 2wd truck, and then launching in 4wd. Asking someone with a 4wd truck to run in 2wd is like asking someone with a blower to not run the belt over the pulley.

When you run people on the street, anything goes. If I get my *** kicked, then they clearly have an advantage, be it traction or power or otherwise.
I say give it all you got, unless you feel like losing and then giving retarded "what if" scenarios and excuses for it. Money, power, traction, driver skill all aside...a fast car is a fast car. Period
