We've got visual inspection for exhaust. The guy that inspects mine has been a friend of the family for years, I pull in, he looks at a brake pad, makes sure my lights work, and I'm off with my new sticker.

When I pull my truck in, I just say everything is good. He says ok, makes sure there are no codes, and I am on my way. I have known him for years, and he knows I would never drive something that doesn't work properly. As far as emissions go, he doesn't even look. I would have thought NY would be harder than TX. I would bet if you had problems someone on here might PM you and help you out. Changing headers seems like a pain.

Makes me love Alberta..... Inspections..... WTF is that????? Unless it's 10-15 year old and needs to have a safety for insurance purposes, and or an out of province regardless of year. Oh yeah, we don't have emission system anti tampering laws provincially either so it's actually not illegal to remove it.

No inspection in AZ and no emmisions outside phx or Tucson. even in phx it's just to check for codes and test your gas cap.
