Lucky! I miss drive-ins... we used to have a few here back in the day, everyone would pile in my old truck and we'd have a great time.

The movie spot down the street from us has a 21 and over VIP seating, huge love seats, reserved seating, alcohol served along with a full restaurant and you can eat and drink inside the movie...
$21 bucks a person, with free popcorn, but food and drink is extra. We only go when a great movie or a big blockbuster is showing i.e. Transformers etc.

Yeah, we have a Movie Tavern here by my house. Tickets are actually cheaper, the food ain't great but they have buckets of beer so it's a lot more fun. That's the only way I see a movie now.

As for the original post, yeah... it's stupid expensive, but honestly I'm not suprised. Technology has cut the profits of the entertainment industry pretty severely (i.e. DVD sales) and they just sell the screenplays to the theatres for more as a result.

Having worked at 2 different movie theaters, its just better to eat, and then come to the movies. Theaters don't make good money off the tickets, its the concesstion (if you haven't noticed lol)

But I can't stand when people bitch and moan about it especailly since I work at a smaller theater and its ALOT cheaper here than Dallas or where ever. They give us the "Damn, how much?" or that little grunt or what ever when I give them there total. Just makes me want to tell them to **** off and go somewhere else if you want to bitch lol.

But yea, it can get pretty pricey.
