i have been an electrician for 18 years now. i run jobs like schools, banks, churches. right now i am working on a good sized jail. lots of stuff on this job i have never worked on before and the job is mostly concrete and block so it has to be done right the first time.

i am tired of working outside. this winter kicked my ***.

CMU wall sucks doesnt it?

I only inspect structural stuff but I get to see some stupid stuff from some of the non structural trades, IE the plumber trying to put in an 8" sleeve to go up inside the wall which obviously wont work since they are 8" wide, or electricians who think you can just tap out a little chunk of the brick to run their stuff when the wall has just been grouted and they empty all the grout out into a studded and rocked floor

I did asbestos abatement for a while then mechanical insulation, the company did both. There were too many unstable loopy ****'s in abatement, not to mention shitty work (but it did pay good) and the insulation branch was mostly family, and I wasn't family, didn't like the family, or their work ethics, laziness, politics, etc. Well now I'm going back to school because I'd rather be one of the guys walking around with a clean hard hat pointing at stuff and telling people to put out their cigarettes.
