See, just get you a 120 mph speedo...

why would you take a truck over 120 ?
it may as well stop anyway right, being that there is no way of accurately measuring speed past the point of 120, maybe i am over thinking the safety aspect of running a shoebox at 140+ with tires that probably arent rated for those speeds and could possibly kill you if a blowout occured at that speed... :suspiciou i wouldnt bother with that mod. to each his own though, there is nothing to removing the cluster. its much easier if you put the trans in "1" with the shifter all the way down, and tilt your steering wheel down. makes it easy to get the dash piece off too. ;) there are (4) 7 mm bolts that hold the cluster in, and then 3-4 plastic retainer type clips that hold the glass on. get yourself a small flathead screwdriver and it will help take the glass off, and save your thumbnail. |
I know how to get the cluster out, that isn't what I was asking really.
I was wanting to know how hard it was to open up the cluster and break off the tabs, but now that I know it wont work, I won't be doing it. BTW Sickredsierra, my speedo only goes to 100, so its kinda annoying when it pegs out so soon. |
its not hard at all..they dont break off you just pull them out. its just a little plastic pin
