Default Hoosiers + wet road = blue truck in the ditch

Just about **** on myself! I still have the slicks on so I was taking it easy. Just pulled out of my driveway onto the main hwy and gently accelerating not to break traction. Well as soon as i hit the new asphalt the back started drifting to the shoulder pointing me in the other lane. I let off and waited a sec for it to grab but we all know hoosiers don't and won't grab on wet road. There were 3 or 4 cars coming so i started turning the wheel to correct myself and the back whipped around, slid a lil ways and went in the ditch backwards about 40 mph. dammit that could have been a lot worse! Thank you Jesus! Back driver corner was in water to the tail light and stopped against a tree that just pushed my rearview mirror frontwards. Just a few inches from my door. So frickin close I had to get out of my passenger side. A few people and friends stopped by, brought me to my house and get my Z71. Hooked up the choker and pulled dat baby out.
Thank god. I dont see any damage but I'll have to wait until I wash it to check it out real good.

Gotta remember to check my slicks for cuts or gashes from the shells too...

good to hear you and your truck are ok but what were you thinking driving your truck on slicks in the rain when you could have been driving the z71 you pulled it out with?

Yea I know it was pretty dumb but I just finished dialing in my VE table and wanted to enjoy driving it. It's so much better now.

I wrecked my truck in May in the rain and I had street tires on the thing. *** end got weird on me in a curve on the freeway and I was only going 55. $8,000 later and seven weeks I got the truck back. I have a whole new respect and fear of the rain. Our trucks just have way too much power for the rain plus you get a shift kit hitting the gears hard in the rain on the freeway and you are asking for trouble. Good to hear there was no major dammage.
