well ive posted this on a vw forum but cant get any luck. well my girl has a 06 vw passat, turns out its common for the rear brake pads go out about every 25k miles. i was thinking about going with some hawk pads for them, but i dont want to pay 60 bucks a pair unless i know they will last longer then 25k. anybody got any experience with hawk pads? do they last a good while? really dreading these rear brakes, turns out you need a laptop to unlock the rear caliper to change the brakes. stupid german engineering. thanks fellas

Sorry man, no help here... I just know I hate VW's. They have the weirdest design flaws....

 

Had an 01 passat I just did the basic ceramic pads all around no issues, didn't keep it long enough to put that many miles on it.
