I am in contact with an attorney, but we really aren't 100% if we want to pursue it. He will gladly go after them if I say so, but it would almost be to just prove a point. In all likely hood, it would be very little money and a lot of time investment.

Ultimately, I would probably do better to spread the word and let them know just how bad Geico treats their customers.

This is my second claim with Geico, and this is the second time I have been treated like I was doing something wrong.

I know in Missouri in the last couple of years, we've had a lot of protection laws enacted to protect people in a situation like your's. If you have full coverage with rental, they WOULD be paying for a rental, and they WOULD be fixing that car, or the state would be all over their ***. I don't know how many people we've pulled in and their insurance company starts trying to yank them around like this, my dad just tells them to call Jeff City, and somehow, everything works out for them in the end.

Civil suits are nice. You really don't need an attorney, and most times an average Joe will win against an attorney. They will have an attorney that they will have to pay no matter what. If you subpoena their employees that treated you like crap into court, they will or should pay them too. Civil court is not like criminal court. Criminal court needs to have proof beyond a reasonable doubt. You must be 100% certain it did happen. Civil court needs to have a better probability that something did happen as opposed to didn't happen. So you need to achieve basically 51% to win. If you had insurance at tge time of the incident, and the plan coveres the damage, you will likely win. And even if you lose, it cost you the $10-$20 to file, and they are out hundreds for their attorney fees. If you win, you will get the estimate money minus the deductible, and that would be more than what they would pay anyways. Most insurance companies won't even pay the full quote for the job.

Well, the wife drove the car Saturday and this happened.

So we decided to get her something else to drive and ended up with this last night

https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...w-ride-488531/

When the rest of the roof ripped off, we noticed that there are cracks around all the mounting points of the fiberglass shell at the front of the roof. Something definitely hit it.

I called the next person up in the chain of command at geico. Guess we will see where this leads.

The regional manager just called me. He wants to come look at the car tomorrow. He said he understood my frustration and didn't feel his local reps handled the situation very well.

Wonder what will come of this.

Hopefully it will work out for you. Meanwhile you need to get a video of that top flapping in the wind just for entertainments sake.

My wife said when the roof tore the rest of the way back, that it was making the car pull all over the road. She also said it was pulling so hard that the windows were all moving. Scared her pretty bad, she wanted me to have the car towed. I told her to stick it in the door and come on home.

Time for an update.

I called to talk to the next guy up in command yesterday. He came out today and was super nice, we went around the car, talked over everything. He agrees with me. They are going to cover 85% of the cloth top because it is considered a wearable item.

After we agreed to terms and had everything worked out, he asked me about the website GEICO SUCKS. I just smiled, and asked him what about it. He asked if I would take it down. I told him once the issue was resolved, I would gladly remove it. His words were "The CEO of Geico saw your website and demanded that I resolve this issue"

Wow, a $3.95 website got that much attention!

I was informed that the local reps should not have accused me a fraud- well DUH

He said they will be handled. That isn't how a rep should handle business.
