Our Yukon is missing the backing plates for the rear brakes. They rusted all the way off. Once they no longer hold the park brake linings, they will be replaced.

There isn't much left of my backing plates either...as far as working on cars goes, rust just makes it that much more challenging, we do a lot of working bolts in and out, and Toyota High Performance Rust Penetrant is my best friend (I've used them all and this stuff is the best...real expensive though, if I had to pay for it )...and regular tetanus shots are a must

At work when we do brakes jobs on the semi's or trailers it usually involves a 20lbs sludge hammer to get the year old drums off the hubs because of all the road salt and other crap they use to keep the roads clean. Other then that it is always use a torch or penetraiting oils. But its usually the same on the company vehicles that you need a bfh to get the rotors and drums off too
