or texting!

but it sounds like it was a pretty stupid move on your part, sorry buddy. I've gotten hit with a ticket for lighting it up around a corner and it got reduced to "improper lane change" still a lot of points tho.
However, Im pretty sure if the cop doesnt sign the ticket it gets ejected. here anyway I believe thats true. and you can fight the estimated speed thing, cuz thats kinda BS. Good luck, hope they dont bend you over but you just gotta be a little more aware of the surroundings

im just going to schedule a court date and try to explain to the judge that I am a full time college student, I admit to being stupid, but there is no way I can possibly afford to pay a fine that high. Hopefully I will have a chance of getting one of the charges dropped, or at least have a reduced fine.

Never, ever admit guilt... no matter what. What is "right" and what is the law are 2 totally different things. My opinion since it's not just a speeding ticket which would easily get reduced, lawyer up. It'll cost you 3-4 bills, your insurance won't go up, and as long as you get a good lawyer you should be able to get out of court free. The only violations I have ever had stick are speeding, it's so hard to prove any other charge that the lawyer should be able to disprove the state's burden of proof.

I know 300-400 isn't chump change, but in the long run look at it like an investment in keeping your driving record clean and your insurance point free. The government makes millions of dollars off of kids that are too blind or in denial thinking they'll get an easy ride and a reduced fine/charge- not gonna happen.

Or if you don't like the idea of getting a lawyer, do defensive driving school and spend a weekend folding clothes for the salvation army or something, community service goes a long way and anything you can physically show judge that proves you're taking it seriously will help.

Damn, I almost got stopped last night. I was on my way home from Larry the Cable Guy show and had my cruise set on about 62-65 and there was a Nissan Pathfinder a little ways in front of me doing about the same or better. I passed a turn off road and as soon as I do the cop turns his lights on and pulls out. At this point I ease off to about 60 and he comes flying up behind me and thankfully passes me and pulls the Nissan over.
