Obviously the heavier truck is going to be slower, but calling them "so slow" is just plain false. His current truck is also an ECSB, so the only weight penalty is in the AWD system, which IMO is well worth it for traction.
so personal experiance is ignorance? my buddy has an awd SS. his outweights my ecsb by about 1100lbs. besides the fact, awd is always slower down the track. yea itll help you launch a little bit, but only if you dont go through the burnout box gettin the tires wet. my friend with just bolt ons and no cam spun off the line. his wheatley tuned and bolted sss runs a fastest 1/4 time of 14.8. so unless you have personal experiance, dont open your mouth.

Considering the only major difference between my truck and an AWD SS is that the AWD on an SS isn't selectable, I'd say I do know a bit about this subject.

Lets go through this step by step. How the hell does the AWD system/torsion bar suspension add OVER 1000 lbs? That makes absolutely NO sense dude. Ok, maybe the body cladding adds a little more, but 1100 lbs total? Bullshit.

Yes, 4wd/AWD will cut down a bit on your top end, but it helps you more than "a little bit" on launch. Find a 2wd truck that can dead hook and cut a 1.8 60' on worn out all terrain tires, and then come back. Oh, and that was at a track where you can't go around the water box.

This all actually first hand experience, with my OWN truck, not "a buddy's truck". You have given more bad advice on here than anybody else I've seen.

How would I go about changing my user name??? On a side note I've been beat by a SS (ZR1 dreaming's) it was a few years back when he lived in NC. So I know they r quick
