Do it. I got mine done 2 years ago after my second kid and I've never regreted it. I was 26 also.

 

Do it, and get your sperm test afterwards.

No way in hell would i leave the birth control solely up to someone who wouldnt mind another kid. That gives her the perfect excuse to play the "oops" game with her pills.

Infact, i'm even considering doing it just avoid worrying about having 1 kid. ugh, kids suck.

 

Before you do it get a semen sample to freeze so if you end up wanting another kid you can. Cover your bases.

 

be careful who does it, my uncle had it done in the navy and they screwed him up BAD. he cant run, if he walks to long it hurts, sometimes just sitting down watching tv hurts, it is hard for him to play with his kids because he has to be careful what hes doing. i dont know exactly what they did wrong and i know it was a navy doctor but the risk is still there with civilian doctors. make sure it is something you want to do, good luck

I am sure this is what I want. Before my wife and I got married we had this discussion (smart thing to do if you haven't gotten married yet). She wanted 3 and I wanted 1. We compromised and had 2. I am not worried in the fact that she would cheat on me. She is a great person and I trust her. The way she got pregnant the first time was do to antibiotics. Apparently, they don't allow the birth control to work. She was working a vet clinic when she got bit by a cat on the wrist, so she had some antibiotics at the clinic. That **** right there is why I want a vasectomy. No more unplanned events for me. My wife is fine with me doing it. She wants to watch so she can laugh at me.

Yeah...You have to get your sperm checked afterwards to make sure you are shooting blanks. The doctor told me that you have to have several ejaculations before you send in your specimen. Get all your potent sperm that is left out of your system. Get your wife to take care of it for you! That's is the best part!
