Angry eBay Scam

Someone tried to pull a scam on me on eBay. The buyer claimed to be from the UK and want to pay me with bill pay. He stated that he would send shipping labels from his Fed Ex account to cover shipping charges. I received an email from what appeared to be billpay saying that I would receive a money order for the price of the item and that I could proceed with shipping. As if I would ship a Computer worth $1000 before I had the money in my possession. I then noticed some spelling errors in the email and decided to look into this a bit more. The return email address was billpayorders.com instead of billpay.com. I did a whois lookup on billpayorders.com and found that this domain wasn't registered to billpay or Western Union. I then received an email from the buyer with fed ex shipping labels attached but was addressed to a Nigeria address. I did some Google searches and found this to be a known scam and reported this to billpay.com and eBay. I then replied to this guy saying I new what he was up to and the proof I had. I told him I hope he is caught and rots in jail. He replied with this:
"Thanks dude...guess you realy smart..bravo..but i cannot get caught nanananananannaa"

What sucks is now I have to relist the item and go through the hassle of getting eBay to relist the computer free of charge.

The bad thing is this person probably will never get caught and will screw some honest people that don't know any better.

Just had to vent a bit...this really pissed me off.

I get that sh*t every time i list somthing on C'slist too.
The most irritating part about it is he's right!

Someone hit "Buy It Now" on one of my items and it turned out to be a 'Nigeria scam' like yours. He registered a Yahoo email address the same day he purchased my item, and then I got an email from 'PayPal' saying that he paid for the item, but....well, here is what it said:

Note:This PayPal®payment has been deducted from the buyer's account and has been "APPROVED" but will not be credited to your account until the shipment tracking number is sent to our customers service for shipment verification so as to secure both the seller and the buyer.
Then he sent me this email:

Hi Kevin,

I have made out my payment to you for this item purchase,So check your mail for the confirmation mail from paypal.Get back to me immediately you receive the confirmation mail from paypal and don't forget to send me your physical contact address and the exact time you will be at home.So i can schedule FedEx to come and pick them up from you in other to reduce the stress of you driving down to their location to send it.Then i can send you my daughters address and fedex account number.Hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely
James.
Thanks goodness he was willing to help me with all my stress!

Same BS for me, having to relist. Sometimes I wonder if EBay allows this because they get more listing fees this way.

something's got to be done... i get prank emails from false paypal and false ebay ALL THE TIME... i'm going to estimate probably 2 from each per day.

A lot of times it will say "Paypal Account Limited Access" or "Ebay account restricted"

I know this isnt the same situation as you... but i'm glad you caught it before you started to pay him for it. ALWAYS check that email address... you can just put your cursor over the link and at the bottom of your IE explorer the web address will come up and its usually an IP address followed by "paypal.com"... or a weird looking address with paypal somewhere in the wording
