Having a 5.0L diesel engine doesn't hurt in such a small vehicle as well. They have over 500TQ IIRC.

The Touareg has a 3.0 diesel rated at 406 lb ft of tq. Being all wheel drive is a big advantage over a truck in 2 wheel drive. Curb weight is just under 5k lbs too.
