Default Drove a Dodge 1500 Hemi....my impressions..

Hey guys,

I test drove a Dodge 1500 Hemi for the weekend, and I was not very impressed. The gas mileage really sucks.......trip computer says I was averaging 10MPG... . The performance didn't really impress me either...for a 345HP truck, it sure didnt seem like it. When I got back in mine this morning, it felt so much more responsive than the Dodge....maybe cause it isn't broken in yet?,...more weight?......I dunno. It had the posi-trac rear end with the optional 3.92 gears also. It seemed to have flat spots in the throttle also...under low rpm acceleration it felt very sluggish....Any comments from u guys that have driven one?

Also, Any of you guys that have an '05 Silverado RCSB 5.3L.......How do u like it? Would you recommend me trading in my '00 in on one of these, or should I just keep mine? Would it be worth it? Also, what did guys pay for your vehicle for the specs I listed above?.....Thanks

Many Hemi owners will agree that the engine doen become alive untill 10k miles. Keep your 00 and swap out your 5.3 for a 6.0. This will cheaper.

I have a 2005 I really like it but the rumor is that you will be able to get a 2006 with the Lq9 in a RCSB I don't think I'll trade just gone to hold off until the 07 comes out to see what the new truck looks like and if they have a SS option RCSB AWD another rumor. If not probably just put a Lq9 in my 05.

Yeah....I hear ya Fogle....It just seemed sluggish to me, ya know?. My truck winds up so damn quick compared to the Dodge. Seemed to have more torque off the line also...wierd, because I have true duals, and I thought that would drop off your torque from what I have read....Gotta love the LS1 though!!.....
