Default Discovery channel: smashlab...how did they get a show?

I dont get it, everytime i watch this show i have to wonder "who gave them degrees?? and then decided they needed a show for them to show off what 4yrs of college can teach you"(not much it seems)

who the heck calls themselve a scientist and then uses the "word" gadgetize??

and the logic...or lack thereof...what the hell?? Here i am watching the floating car episode. The first test shows the car doing a nose dive into the water(as it should with most of the weight being forward) and from that test they decide they need a skid plate. No weight distribution? no buoyant materials to add? but a skidplate will fix it?

ok /rant on this big

The first time I watched that show I thought it was pretty cool. The first episode I saw was the one where they used spray on bedliner to reinforce a building against an outside bomb. All the rest of the ones I have seen have been pretty retarded. The solutions they come up with for their problems are completely impractical and unrealistic.

but here's the problem, the military has been using that spray-liner to protect buildings for awhile now. Maybe even before smash lab was concieved. So its not even a question to ask. Its simply pointing out a proven idea. It'd be like mythbusters test the myth of wheels being round.
