Decision Time - stop where I am or keep modding

i have had a lot of fun w the truck and reading countless threads on here. My truck has shocked me from day one but recently I have been thinking about trading it in on a newer one.
Basically sell all my stuff, turn it back to stock, trade it in on a 10+ crew cab z71, re mod. I have a three month old now and the car set and base fit fine in my extended cab but it will get tight. Before I jump into the deep end w my 80k mile 5.3 w a 4l70 trans w a cam, more boost, head work, tru trac, dod delete.... Basically make it a nasty all turbo 93pump combo. Should I stop progress before I find the weak link and it leaves me, or worse my family, stranded and upgrade to a newer more reliable truck? The 6 speed trannys are amazing and I wouldn't have to worry about my 70. Granted it's built and works great but I always think about it. I mean I have 10g into my truck as it is now w plans of another 4k into it early 2014. Plus the newer 5.3s come with the 243s compared to my 799s.
Just this week I'm ready and supposed to drop 800 bucks on my 09 on a tannoe cover and full new exhaust.
My problem is that I can't find a newer truck w the options I want. Mine has the sun roof and power sliding back window. I wants the tow package and oem trailer brake. Black on black and no wood grain dash. I've searched and no dice. So that leads me to any other color truck and I'd get it wrapped.
Another thing is that if I got a new truck, I'd do the motor stuff first. Head gaskets, studs, dod crap, cam... Then the turbo kit? I guess the only difference is unbolting the turbo manifold or stock manifold. I'd plan on doing both but not sure which to do first. Obviously the turbo would make more power but for some reason I think I should have everything else done, then turbo.
What do you guys think? Stop modding mine and keep searching for a replacement or keep going with mine?

get a family vehicle and keep the truck as a toy. at some point the truck WILL go down for some time and possibly leave the family stranded. something will break, or will blow up if you beat on it. you can find nice dependable used trucks and SUVs cheap.
