Longevity. Mileage. Holding value.

I just sold my 2007 classic crew cab 4x4 SLT with no sunroof or DVD player and 123k miles for 28k. Granted it had a built Trans and supporting mods and 540 rwhp / 1102 rwtq.

I go to school with a few of those kids. I find it weird that trucks of equal age, with 300k+ miles are worth more than an f-body, or other comparable car. A car that can make 1000+ hp on the stock block is worth less than someones water hauler just baffles me. That being said, I plan on going to college for a diesel tech. degree...

If it was a crew cab, I probably wouldn't be selling it, lol.

Cody, why not get a D-max Van? Just saying they are a lot cheaper than the Trucks hence why I went that route. Aside from the lack of 5th wheel capability, they are great if not better than a truck IMO.

Because you can't get a black Dmax van with heated ball warmers and an espresso machine like he's wanting

100% agree with this thread. I don't get it. To me diesels made sense back in the early 90s before the big 3 knew how to make torque and you could get a 6.2 half ton that could tow ****. Now with Dodge's 5.7, Ford's 5.0 and 6.2, and GM basically not offering a lame engine choice anymore I don't understand ponying up the extra 10 grand for an oil burner that gets lower mileage than a gas. Around here the roads are cluttered with jackasses in lifted diesels, but it's cause they're riggers making 9 grand a month and stealing fuel from the rig. Otherwise I don't get the logic.

That's why I installed aftermarket chairs...ball warmers for everyone!!
But seriously, I don't have any regrets getting a D-max Van as opposed to getting a D-max with a bed. The biggest limitation again is the lack of 5th wheel capability, but other than that, I think it's a great option.
May not be as cool at first but you can make anything cool if you put enough creativity in it!
