Build your own LS7/LS9 at GM's facility!

Now this is cool. I haven't been very active on here lately, so this might be a re-post, but I thought it was just too good to not share. I found this on another forum, and figured you guys would definitely enjoy.

That is awesome.

I have seen videos of their facilities before. top notch.

It cost 5k to do that, on top of the price of your engine. I already know how to build engines, not going to pay extra to something I already know.

This. And I can just imagine the warranty implication that would come along with it. "Well sir actually you assembled the engine so that $30000 crate you paid for is as is where is". Not that they don't just make up dumb$hit excuses until you give up like with my friends ZZ383. But hey, at least you might get an engine that is put together properly.... unlike their regular junk crate engines.......

I'm very happy with my crate ls1, even happier that it changed hands 3 Times before I got it. Even funnier that nobody even opened the crate to look at it...

I don't think someone who is willing to pay 20-30k for one of those crate engines gives a shit how much it costs to build it themselves lol. The crowd here is definitely not the one being catered to.

TXSZ66AVLANCHE 04-12-2012 12:31 PM

I agree, but notice how I was referring to myself my first reply?

...which reinforces the fact that this crowd is not the one being catered to.

I think it would be somewhat cool to do, just to be able to say "Yeah I built this at GM" If I had a ton of money I might do it, otherwise though I'll save money and piece together my engines haha. Still a neat and original idea from GM though.

If anyone in DFW area would like the build your own engine experience..let me know, Will be glad to help. A few guys from ls1tech have gone through my program already haha
