We had Morgan's when I was a kid, my grandma competed in the show circuit and she bred them. We also had a Quarter. I would love to move out of CA to the Carson Valley area and buy a little ranch.

Express ranch here in Oklahoma has 14 Clydesdale's. One of em is so big that my dad (who's 6'2") has to look up to see. his head comes to the center of its back.

They have anchors in the walls so they can chain them up if they need to but have had several occasions where someone would spook the horse and it would take off and rip the anchors out of the wall.

definitely some strong horses.

Beautiful horses. My parents had a morgan and two mini's

I dunno what it is about horses, but I just melt when I'm with one

The morgan my mother had was very well trained, and was very close with my mother. It would lay down next to my mother in the pasture when my mother was out there (from what I'm told a horse laying down next to you is a huge sign of trust).

HaHa, I wish. But if they ever have those, do you own video competitions for some beer or something, I know I'll be making one.

AP, you know you are more than welcome to swing out here man. We've got a smaller horse than we can put even the smallest children on.

you should get the horse tied up to the little truck, and have you sit on the hood . . and have someone photo chop cases of beer in the back

I Have an 18 hand Belgian "TONKA", a Palamino appaloosa, a mule and 2 donkeys. I'll tell you when that belgian spooks when your walking him on a lead rope it's best to just let him go, cause you aint gonna stop him. Iv'e blisterd my fingers and hands trying too. My wife had him trained to ride, but after breaking my leg on a motorcyle a few years ago i don't feel like jumpimg off a horse that big. But if I ever get my tractor stuck, he could pull it out He can walk up to any gate that he doesnt like and tatally waste it without even trying. he'll either push it with his chest or take a swipe at it with his foot. I keep spare on hand

Yeah, I was told by the previous owner, that Sweet Pea was 18HH, but I honestly think she may be slightly smaller. I'm going to measure her this weekend. She's a Bay Mare, but does have a slight touch of Roan to her, but you can see it unless your right on top of her. I got some better pics this morning that I'll post up soon.

I hear ya on letting the rope go, so far she hasn't spooked, but I'm sure it will happen eventually. I will need to give her a little ground work with the lead, she's good, but sometimes doesn't want to mind, and I don't know about you, but I can push an 1800 pound horse around.

Oh, and I know about the fencing. We've got new--good fence around the property, but that does have me worried. We have a strand of electric fence at the top run of the fence so I'm hoping that will discourage getting too close. I know its worked on our other horses, but will it be enough for her????

Bad thing is I'll have to hold off on my truck mods for a little while to buy new tack. Cause there's not much off the shelf items for her size. I've got a birthday coming up later this month so I'm going to be asking my folks for a gift certificate to our favorite horse tack shop up in Brenham.

About that tack - is it all custom made? Seems like the cinch would have to be twice as long as a regular size!
