Sometimes a beater is just to keep you from walking!

 

Had this "beater" for 3 months, 2 years ago. (yes it's a Z-28 LT1 car) Bought it for $1400 with no tranny at all (a4) bought a rebuilt tranny from CL for $475, put 6 months of plates and insurance on it, for grand total of $2200 in it. Drove it for 3 months and 4k miles (took it to OR for Xmass). Got 24+ MPG, then sold it after 3 months for $3400 Had planed on keeping it till summer, but some dude came by and really wanted to buy it for his kid to drive to school. Was a good investment and saves some miles and gas on the truck, plus it was fun as hell to drive,

 

Bingo! I needed something fast and this car was available...it just needs to go 10 miles a day back and forth to work until I can afford an FLT trans
