It is a battle of who has a bigger bank... just had to rant, was surfing the tube, between the game.... A vette just went for 400k gimmie a fuking break..

Yea. It's 100% about who can spend the most. Usually when they are bidding they are just trying to hit a mark so they can say they did it.
The first ZR1 sold on there for a Million. In reality the bidding stopped short but he upped the bid to a Million just for the bragging rights.

its those damn people that have nothing better to spend there money on...and its so funny because they paid 450,000 on a car...they think thats what its worth! granted sometimes it might be but most of the times its a common car...
i have a family member that used to own a dodge dealership and he buys these older cars and tries to flip them...but askes way to much...thinking hes on this show...lol i mean everything he has is 'worth' so much...even his cub cadet that he had restored...tells me all the time its worth more than all antique tractors because its original and im not saying my stuff is worth big bucks but im not gonna trade 6 tractors for one lawn mower lol...

thing is hes a salesman...so he get ppl all the time to believe him...oh well sorry for the rant

Some of us at work refer to Barret Jackson as the "stupid money" coming out. Some of the cars are really rare, but very few of the buyers on there are going to drive them, so it's a shame either way.

The best I ever saw was a guy bought an LS6 Chevelle Convertable. Paid 1.1 million(or somewhere in that price). The next week there was a show on called Life after the Block(I think). That guy was at a Nostalgia drag, with that car. The car was a modified production drag car in 1970 and was never beat. I was glad to see it being put to good use. I told my wife that would be me if we were rich. She wasn't amused.

I have went to two of them both in Scottsdale and I can tell you that the cars are awsome but was out back of the auction buying a tshirt and a 427 Corvette drives by. I loved the car but as it passed you could smell the varnished old gas still in the tank.
