I've worked on that project off, and on since the early 90's. It started with the Ground Based Interceptor, out in the Marshall Islands. Pretty cool stuff to watch.

Dude! That is freaking awesome. The slow-mo shows the venting really well, I can't believe how fast it left the ship. The last vid really shows the USS Decatur making some wild manuevers, and the complexity of the missle system. I love defense contractor videos.
Were you in the clips anywhere?

This piece of hardware is manufactured by one of my top ten customers. I have had the op to visit their facilities in SD twice and see the birds under construct/assembly, view the controlls and watch vids like this one:

Pretty cool!

You know, when I first started working on this stuff back in the late 80's everything was SUPER hush, hush. Launch times/re-entry times were kept top secret. But.....you knew when the launch went off from Vandenburg, because the Russian spy ship cruising just off the coast (of the Marshall Islands, not the US coast) would shoot off a flare! Now......CNN has it on TV before Vandenburg can verify! Then.....26 minuites after blast off from Vandenburg, it makes the atmosphere glow upon re-entry 5,000 miles away.
Saw a video of one hitting the power plant on Illigini once. The shockwave preceding the actual missile actually blew all the sheetmetal off the building, then it hit, right between the engine, and generator. What a fireworks show!!!
Guess who got to go help clean up the mess, and re-route all the fuel lines to a safer place!
