Default Applying for a lost vehicle title (texas)

Anybody know what all has to happen? Ive picked up an old scout with no title, that came off a deer lease after 20 years.

Ive found the form online, but im not sure if i just put my info in? or do I need the info that the title would still be under (aka previous owner)? What happens if there is a lein on the vehicle? Do I have to pay it? Or?

TIA for any help

You will have to turn in that form to the tax collectors office of your county and they will run the VIN. If it has a lien on it, it will not be titled in your name. In order for a vehicle to be titled in your name that had a loan on it you will have to provide the lein release form from the bank.

So its a pretty simple process, that's good to know.
Any other things to worry about?

If youre only trying to get a title then yes its pretty simple. If youre trying to get it registered then thats a whole 'nother can of worms.
