Put it this way, back in '04 when my truck was new I bought a set of SS wheels (take offs) and put them on my truck. I drove around the block once and the performance was down so much along with braking I took them off and sold them the next day. I put about .3 miles on a set and decided against 'em. They're heavy as ****, and a set of tires for them will cost you near a grand. Low profile tires for those rims hardly go past 30K miles so you'll be into a lot of money in rubber if you drive a lot.

i have the silver ss wheels and i love them. i am hard on tires anyway and rarely ever see more than 20k miles out of a set of tires. i got brand new maxxis tires, set of 4 for $440 mounted, balanced and test fitted, 40k mile warranty and rotations every 8k miles.

well im rollin 20" kmc's right now and they look like a huge lightning wheel to me and i dont like the slotted center caps they have, never took them off yet so not sure how heavy they are but the truck spins em over pretty quick with ease. im not gona be getin anymore rims anytime soon i was just wondering about them cause that seems pretty cheap for new 20's

uhh, dude, thats not cheap for new 20's... they're $559 each, or $2,239 + center caps and lug nuts... total of over $3k, BEFORE tires.

Am I missing something or are you guys still talking about chrome SS wheels? Tires are not $1000 for 20s unless you're buying 35" tires or bigger.

As far as the SS rims, I bet you can find some on silveradoSS.com for under $1000. They aren't expensive unless you get them from the dealership.
