Default anyone ever rebuild a kx 250?

i recently aquired a 2002 kx250 (2 stroke) from someone that owes me money. it needs a bottem end put in it. so i am going to purchase a top and bottem end rebuild kit. i am mechanically inclined but i read you need special tools and id like to just get the bike going and try to sell it. if i was going to keep it id buy the tools. the bike itself is pretty clean. did know if anyone works on them ever. if it were just a top end it would be done already. i have the head off already the cylinder is good. no nicks at all. so i was just going to buy a wiseco top and bottem end. can anyone offer advice or is there anyone in the maryland/deleware/pa/ area that would be willing to help me? thanks

Just bought a 94 yamaha yz 250, so when you find out, how to do a top end I might be asking you for advise in the near future. I will tell you that if your gear oil ever gets milky or looks like your coolant is getting in, its a bad water pump seal, for some reason when the seal inside the water pump shaft goes bad, coolant is able to get into your transmission, ask me how I know.
