Default Ahhhhhhh! Not Again!

Well, this could be considered a rant but I cant help it. My 2001 silverado 1500 got broken into outside of a restaraunt (10:00 with a full parking lot)about 4 months ago. Right after that I purchased a viper alarm system that has proven itelf so far. So here comes worse news. My boss gave me a deal on his 2003 silverado 2500 duramax that I could not refuse. I have had the truck for 2 weeks and it got broken into at target last night around 8:00 (with a full parking lot, very active area too). Man am I pissed. They broke the cylinder but never opened the door. At least they took nothing, so I guess they got spooked, and I was only in there for ten minutes.
My buddies f-250 got broken into 2 weeks ago! Is any one elses city having drastic increases in truck break ins? I just wanted to see if my area is the only one.

Break-ins are always elevated in shopping areas during the holidays. Looking for items that have been purchased and hauling around.
