93.00 to fill up today

Gas around here just went from $2.59/gal to $2.77/gal and will probably jump again in the morning. I know that three days out of the week I am commuting to the city area, traffic on I-65 north in the morning every morning during week days is backed up for miles. My point is that I live around alot people that drive in to the city everyday for work and unless their making a shitload of money the gas proces are hurting them too. ALL these cars on the road with ONE person in them ALL of the cars. Personally I think it would be a good idea if some one came up with a website-a website where people could enter their starting point and destination and match those two up with others of the same. I know its not perfect and I know someone will find a problem with it, I know I can, but the point is that I am just thinking of something to help everyone. There is not one person that I know of that isn't reconsidering their lifestyle because the gas prices continue to rise, meaning people are having to make changes in order to pay bills, and basically to survive. I would make the site myself if I knew how but I don't possess the knowledge or resources to do so. Again, this is just a suggestion to solve the problem instead of just talk about it. Sorry about the long post.

Guys i just got back from Alexandria, La, running away from Katrina. We had to stay one night in Walmart parking lot with the camper. I went to get gas for the generator and all they had was 93 octane. so as i was filling up the can i notice it was only 2.48 for 93. I'm like wtf. Lady said the were out of regular and was selling the 93 for the regular price. Needless to say i went get the truck and filled it up plus the generator and two gas cans.

One thing about GM is that these trucks get about the best gas mileage outta any brand truck AFAIK. The new trucks are supposed to have DOD(displacement on demand) to get even better mileage. Now GM needs to give us the "lean cruise" option here in the US so we can get even better mileage, don't think it's good for cat converters or emissions though so that won't happen UNLESS you have a wideband and EFILive Flashscan.
quicksilverado - You're right that most of us still are much better off than the people that have lost everything down in the south because of the storm but, it doesn't mean we can't complain about things that are affecting our lives too. Maybe we should start a thread on how people can help out with donations(money/clothes/food/whatever) for the survivors of the storm.
