Well I went and drove a Cobalt Blue 2014 Sierra SLE 5.3 this afternoon. Ive driven all the high end Fords and Dodges, Toyota and even the Titan and no truck out right now compares...
SUPER quiet and smooth going down the road. Makes my 07 feel like a log truck. Tons of sound deadening all under the truck and hood. Even the SLE had the touch screen, Bose, Nav, back up camera, power heated back glass etc... Just not leather, which I hate anyway. Back seat hard plenty of room for me and another grown man my size (6ft, large build) more room than the previous body by far. No more cracked dashes either with the leather cover and matching leather steering wheel. The bed is much bigger and equipped with LED lighting under the bed rails. Awesome feature IMO. The engine is a different animal as well. The 5.3 finally feels like it can do something!!! Looks much different under the hood as well. Power is smooth and always there with the 6spd. Tuning for the trans feels like its been improved over the previous years. Felt like it 'hunted' less trying to downshift or around town. I will be driving the 6.2 of the same model and trim when it shows up and the sales manager assured me I'd be the first to know when a Cobalt Blue 6.2 crew cab showed up.
VERY impressed is all I can say. I feel like GM has finally gotten with the program and given us a competing truck. The fit/finish and refinement of this model is light years ahead of the GMT900. I think if I can find this truck in a 6.2/6spd/14b, I think I may have found momma's new ride
The Silvy's are still ugly I parked a Sierra and a Silvy side by side, and still, no contest IMO...
Biggest drawback, every truck on the lot started at $40K and went up... Truck I drove was right at $41... The price tag reflects the changes...

Glad to hear you were happy Benny. My local lot just got a crew 5.3 in the LT package I believe, definitely gonna go give it a spin soon (even tho my Cruze doesn't go back for another year lol).
Now imagine this... rcsb with the 6.2 ahh that truck would ****** rip!

I'm here to tell ya, even the 5.3 RCSB's are gonna be no joke. As always, tuning will hold them back but there's talk that the PCM's have already been cracked. Even light mods with the DI capability will make some serious power. It's going to be a fun truck for someone who wants a strong driver without diving off into lots of serious mods.

Only difference seems to be gearing.
