My wife and I also claim single O. With one child the returns are around 10k.

You can claim whatever you want, it just modifies how much they take out per check. With them claiming zero the max is taken out, then if theyre at the top of their given tax bracket then theyd get back a good chunk then add the tax credit for the kid you can get a big chunk. Personally I prefer to work it where I dont get back a big chunk so I can collect the interest on that money thorughout the year instead of the government. Just requires a lot more discipline with your money.

You got it guys...gotta target a "net zero". I do alot of planning to NOT let the government have a zero percent loan on my behalf.

hmm...theres things I need to do.
Need to replace my rear with a new unit. But Im cheap...

Im currently selling my Daily (2008 Dodge Caliber R/T) and possibly my truck. Gonna get a beater and Buy a home this year.

Soo....My refund (a whopping $1,000) will be saved towards a house downpayment. Not much but its a start.
