steve, this is dustin from waco(u just worked on my truck), this is what the v6 did when it messed up on my truck! except mine was crapped out. check ur distributor gear see if its wearing, thats what some shitty place in waco told me was about to go out on mine right before it happend.

i dont think the ls2's have distributors.

No no no..... definitely no distributors....... coil near plug ignition....

crank position sensor then 8 coil packs right above the plugs right?

this thing has more sensors than it knows what to do with..... crank sens, cam sens. and on and on and on.... even the coolant temp sensor will affect the way it runs.... first thing i would check is grounds

My 05 Cobalt SS/SC did the EXACT same thing on more than one occasion . Had it checked out three times by three different dealerships and they couldn’t figure the problem out (figures).

Hence the reason I am driving a Silverado now lol. Anyway, I’d be interested to know if you find out what the problem is…seems it’s been happening to a lot of newer GM vehicles. I know a couple of other Cobalt SS/SC people have been having these issues...
