Damn, you've had some rotten luck the last couple months! glad your ok though. Is that a Ford that you hit or a 99-02 silvy? You should be happy that the cops wrote him up too, should make your case much much easier when the insurance comes calling.
Best of luck with it all and glad your safe!

It was a Ford Ranger.

Thanks for all the concern guys, I'm starting to feel not as sore today(atleast so far)

If it is totaled which it looks like will be I will be buying another one!

It's always crappy to see these threads, but I'm glad you weren't SERIOUSLY injured. Weird about the airbag, but my sister crashed her Civic and the airbag burnt her arm, so maybe it's for the best. Burns suck. Crash and rally dude!

Sorry to hear this! glad your ok, sounds like some bad luck you have been having, probley due for some good luck to come your way.

That totally blows. But I LOL'd when I read your Avatar.

Glad you're okay.

Airbags are designed to deploy in frontal and near-frontal collisions more severe than a threshold defined by the regulations governing vehicle construction in whatever particular market the vehicle is intended for.
If I had to guess I'd say that since you were already hard on the brakes the degree of impact was reduced to the point that it was within the acceptable threshold and deployment of the airbags could have simply busted you in the face.
Had you not been on the brakes I'd imagine they would have deployed.

Just a guess. I'd still let GM know just in case there is something that needs to be addressed.

Dude, I have had that avatar for close to a year! It is kinda fitting to the current situation though.

As for the airbag issue, I would estimate impact speed was 30-35 mph full frontal im not pissed they didnt go off since im not hurt but still thinking they should have. My right ankle and knee hurt worse than anything cause I was standing on the brake at impact.

viciousknid 04-18-2010 12:33 PM

Yea I know you've had it but when I was reading the thread and then read your avatar I started rolling. So suiting.

Ive lost my faith here lately in some of the newer vehicles and their safety features, here is my buddy's Titan that he flipped end over end, crushed the roof on a gaurdrail all after nose diving sharp enough into a ditch to flip the truck.

None of the air bags deployed, and he walked away without a scratch at all, lucky ass bastard :judge:

Sounds like the safety features did their job. Airbags would have busted his face a little.
