I figure I will just drive mine like I want and if I decide I really want to keep the TBSS longer, then I will buy the extended warranty. I was going to SC mine, but instead will just end up buying a Vette or something equivilant to play with anyway. I am going to leave it with a tune, cat back and CAI.

You have a warranty, use it.

Why would you want to do a 4L80E swap? They are almost as strong as the 4L80E and have WAY less rotating mass that the 80.. Converter, valvebody and a big cooler will make it last nice and long..

No way will the bandaid 4l70 handle near the power of a 4l80. The 4l70 is basicly (sp) a 4l60 with a few upgraded parts. If you have seen the internals of the 60 vs the 80 it is obvious why the 80 can handle so much more power. A shift kit and a few other parts and a 4l80 will handle 900 hp. A fully built 60 will not approch those capabilities.

How many documented failures in AWD have you seen besides the two in your shop? In the thread over there someone posted they own a 2WD and it failed less than 5K miles. In the same thread someone asked you:

Have to ask though, how many higher power AWD vehicles have your 2 customers owned?

and you responded:

most are stock guys drive them pretty hard (lots of stuff i dont even do to mine donuts street racing etc)
both all wheel drive trucks tranny took a shat under 5k miles and they are STOCK.

Sounds like they're beating the hell out of the trucks according to your response.

It's worse than that - the 4L70E is still a 700R4 at its heart. No amount of hardened parts, kevlar bands, etc. will ever change that.

the other cool thing about the 80 is i can keep the stock transfer case or fab in the hd case so it will be a 4wd
