That is the EVAP solenoid valve you are pointing to with the pencil.

It purges gas fumes from the tank.

You see in the first pic to the right of your pencil is the fuel rail. It has 1 connection. Which is a supply line.

You can clip a corvette style regulator on the fuel rail .

Then out of the back of the filter/reg. will be two connections, one for supply and one for return to tank.

Check out street and performance website ( w w w hotrod lane dot com) . they sell the filters and connections.

Also SDPC 2000 sells the filter.

Sorry, poor pic but here it is installed on my Fuel rail, but i soon ditched it for a boost reference regulator from Lonnies performance.

Hey thanks you guys. John,no I'm swap'n this into a 68 chevelle conv. I'm still not up to speed on the LS stuff and was confused by the two fuel lines. I'm in the middle of a frame-off resto-mod and would like to run a single fuel line while to body is still off the frame. I have a place for the Corvette FPR set up in the trunk by the 96 Impala tank. When it comes to the engine I get much better responce over here on the TB site than at LS1tech.

So thanks again.

Oh yeah then I won't be needing that EVAP on a swap conversion... right ???

What would you do if you didnt want to use the return line back to the tank? Could you plug the line and leave it there?

no , if your system is return style the pressure regulator is on the rail there for if you put a returnless style rail the pump would build up pressure the shut off kus it has built up to much pressure ,
a returne style fuel system the pump never shuts off there for the fpr in the fuel rail reliefes the pressure !
so the answer to your ? is no ! you must put a fpr or a in this case a c5 corvett fuel filter !ect....
